Five ways to support children with special needs at Al-Jannah Centre
From a donation to a shared post, there are practical ways to stand with the children and families of Al-Jannah Centre in Kochchikade, Negombo.
Since 2018, Al-Jannah Centre in Kochchikade, Negombo, has supported children with special needs and skills through education, therapy and vocational training. People often ask how they can help. Here are five practical ways, whether you live nearby or far away.
1. Give towards what the children use every day
Contributions help with learning materials and classroom support, with therapy, activities and vocational training, and with care, meals and special celebrations. The Centre’s bank details are on the Support section of this website. Please contact the Centre before giving, so the team can confirm the details with you.
2. Talk to the team first
A short conversation makes sure your support reaches the right need. WhatsApp on +94 75 222 3370 is often the quickest way to reach the Centre, and you can also call +94 77 100 1518 or write to info@aljannahcentre.com.
3. Follow and share the Centre’s work
The Centre shares everyday moments from its classrooms, celebrations and community days on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and on the Stories page of this website. Following along and sharing a post helps more families and supporters find the Centre.
4. Come and see for yourself
The Centre is at 20/A Negombo Road, Kochchikade. For visit enquiries, please speak with the Centre directly so the team can arrange a suitable time.
5. Tell a family who may need the Centre
Sometimes the most valuable support is an introduction. If you know a family caring for a child with special needs, let them know the Centre is here. For programme and admission enquiries, they can speak with the team directly.
Small steps, big achievements
Every milestone at the Centre is shared by the children, their teachers and their families. In 2026, four students sat the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, and the children’s work was shown at the Centre’s stalls at the 42nd National Meelad-un-Nabi Cultural Exhibition. Support from the community is part of each of those steps.
